The new features for the Sony PSP-3000 are the built-in mic, Skype software and a brighter LCD screen. The new PSP-3000 will retail for 199 Euro (a price increase over the 169 Euro), and although it has only been announced for European markets, expect it to make its way state-side before too long.
Sony also announced a new updated Playstation 3, featuring a larger 160GB hard drive. The new console will be retailing for 449 Euro and will come bundled with a 70Euro credit for downloadable content via the Playstation Network. It will hit European shelves on October 31.

From the beginning, ProStreet was meant to be a more authentic and visceral driving experience than we’d ever produced before. The game needed to be believable and give you the same, sweaty palms, seat-of-the-pants, adrenaline rush that you get racing. It’s scary to go fast. It takes all of your focus, skill, and attention to keep a car under control at race speeds- and if you lose focus bad things happen, fast. Did we really capture the experience of racing? The game felt realistic, but how real is ‘real’? Last week I travelled to the Mojave Desert north of Los Angeles to find out.
Need for Speed ProStreet has drifted its way into stores and is now available at all major retailers! Race to get your hands on one of the most anticipated games of the year.

DivX followed up Tuesday night’s earnings report with a presentation at the JP Morgan SmMid cap conference. JP Morgan analyst Paul Coster coyly probed Kevin Hell about whether or not we were about to see DivX support on the Xbox 360. The question seemed to catch Hell off guard, and while his initial reaction was enthusiasm, there was something about his tone that suggested that Coster might be onto something.
Here is the exchange verbatim, but in order to appreciate the awkwardness of the exchange, you should really listen to the quote at the 24 minute mark of the presentation and make your own decision as to whether or not you hear a sense of urgency in Hell’s response. Read the rest of this entry »

NEW YORK - Sony Corp. on Thursday cut the price of its PlayStation 3 game console in the U.S. and announced an even cheaper model that will arrive before the holiday shopping season.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare It will introduce a variety of game play styles into the single player campaign completely new to the Call of Duty series. The game moves away from the standard three country-specific campaign style, and allows the plot to play through more like a film style plot with interlaced story lines from the perspective of the player as a member of the US 1st Force Recon and a member of the British 22nd SAS Regiment. There is also a variety of cameo-style missions where you play as various other soldiers such as an AC-130 Spooky Gunship gunner, or as one part of a two man sniper team behind enemy lines in a flashback style mission.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will focus on the variation of modern warfare as an infantry soldier by allowing the player to control soldiers in a vast amount of different scenarios, straying away from the constant “at eleven” action of previous Call of Duty titles and allowing for both heavy intensity fire fights and slower paced drama styled intensity. The developer, Infinity Ward, has so far told about a handful of such levels including where the player will be the gunner of an AC-130 gunship and the pilot of a AH-1 Super Cobra helicopter providing air support.
